Immune dysregulation workshop SJD Barcelona Children's Hospital
From basics to clinic
Immune dysregulation is a form of excessive response of the immune system with various manifestations, such as recurrent fever, hyperinflammation, rheumatologic diseases, autoimmune diseases or lymphoproliferation. It is increasingly identified in patients and is seen not only in rheumatology and clinical immunology units, but also in other specialties due to the tendency for multiple organ and system involvement.
Thanks to recent scientific advances, affected patients now have more options for diagnosis of the underlying immunopathology, as well as for treatment, with the goal of more personalized, targeted and effective management.
This second edition, taught by international leaders in the field, aims to provide the most up-to-date knowledge in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with manifestations of immune dysregulation, from an interdisciplinary perspective, in order to offer them the most optimized management to improve their prognosis and quality of life.
After completing this training, you will be able to:
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in the pathophysiology of immune dysregulation and its management, both diagnostic and therapeutic, while emphasizing the critical role of reference units.
- Recognize key collaboration opportunities between rheumatologists, clinical immunologists, and laboratory immunologists in the diagnostic and therapeutic process, highlighting the importance of interdisciplinary management.
- Learn about the newest diagnostic techniques for immune dysregulation based on genomics, proteomics, and transcriptomics, and gain insight into the future directions of biomarker research.
- Understand the latest developments in immunomodulation, exploring current therapeutic possibilities and anticipating the future trajectory of research in this field.
