SJD Barcelona Children’s Hospital’s Simulation Unit has been affiliated with the Boston Children’s Hospital’s Immersive Design Systems (IDS) programme since 2013.
We work closely with this institution to make advances in medical training, patient safety, and efficiency in paediatrics and obstetrics.

The ultimate aim of teaching in medicine is for patients to benefit from the knowledge and skills that we have been able to convey.
Medicine is an activity with a huge human impact. Therefore, treatments in which the greatest respect, care and kindness is given to patients must be on the same footing as the medical care given based on expertise of outright scientific excellence that requires constant nurturing.
It is very enriching that the professionals who interact daily with patients and families, and face challenges in clinical practice, are the ones responsible for delivering practical training, with the ultimate goal of making it useful in the daily work of healthcare professionals.
Our healthcare work teaches us valuable lessons every day. As a lecturer, my aim is to arouse this feeling by way of personalised scenarios, in which the students are able to learn from experiences and emotions by setting their individual learning pathways.
My engagement in teaching focuses on providing the training required to take the best approach for tackling the orthopaedic needs of children, in order to contribute to their well-being and development.
One of the most gratifying parts of my daily work is to teach and remain in constant contact with the people in training. This process is the driving force behind improving and growing professionally.
