SJD Barcelona Children’s Hospital to host an international symposium on pediatric inherited cardiac disorders
The three-day meeting, organized by the Hospital’s Arrhythmia, Inherited Cardiac Diseases and Sudden Death Unit, will bring together internationally renowned experts and combine cutting-edge scientific updates, clinical case discussions, networking and hands-on training.
SJD Barcelona Children’s Hospital will host the International Symposium on Pediatric Inherited Cardiac Disorders from 14 to 16 October in Barcelona, bringing together leading specialists in pediatric inherited cardiac diseases and arrhythmias from across Europe and the United States.
The event is organized by the hospital’s Arrhythmia, Inherited Cardiac Diseases and Sudden Death Unit, led by Dr Georgia Sarquella-Brugada, President of the Spanish Society of Paediatric Cardiology and Congenital Heart Disease (SECPCC) and Head of SJD Barcelona Children's Hospital Cardiology Service.
Over three days, participants will explore the latest advances in the diagnosis, treatment and management of inherited cardiac disorders in children through a programme that combines scientific updates with practical, clinically focused learning.
The symposium will open on 14 October with a focus on novel therapies for pediatric inherited heart diseases and will feature the BRUPED Networking Event, the first European networking initiative dedicated to pediatric Brugada syndrome. The second day will be devoted entirely to Brugada syndrome, including keynote sessions with internationally recognized experts Ramón, Josep and Pedro Brugada. The final day will focus on the latest procedures and devices used in the diagnosis and treatment of pediatric arrhythmias.
Designed to encourage interaction and knowledge exchange, the programme includes real-world clinical cases, multidisciplinary discussions and hands-on training sessions. Participants will also have access to two specialized workshops, covering genetic variant interpretation and arrhythmia management, with interactive ECG workshops and simulation-based learning activities.
The symposium will also address emerging areas that are transforming cardiovascular care, including artificial intelligence, remote monitoring, genetics and precision medicine.
By bringing together experts from Belgium, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the United States and Spain, the meeting aims to strengthen international collaboration and advance the care of children with inherited cardiac disorders worldwide.
