Unlock the Future of Clinical Neurology

This international master's program will enable you to shape a groundbreaking new paradigm in clinical neurology. Instead of focusing solely on clinical symptoms, you'll learn to integrate genetic, molecular, biochemical, and brain circuitry insights for a more comprehensive understanding.

You'll gain the tools to apply "pathophysiological thinking" in both neurology and inborn errors of metabolism, addressing the fact that over 80% of diseases have neurological involvement. All aimed at advancing the development of new therapies.

What you will learn

  • Original and innovative clinical practice aimed at connecting the basic mechanisms of disease to clinical symptoms.
  • Biomarkers and treatments of neurometabolic and neurodegenerative diseases.
  • The biochemical and cell biology bases of neurological symptoms.

Contents

The teaching program includes 6 theoretical modules that cover almost all neurometabolism disorders.

Teaching Structure

The program is offered in a blended format, featuring weekly online classes and an annual Summer School week in Barcelona
On-line: Classes are held weekly, with access to each session provided through the virtual campus. Students can view the content as many times as they need. One or two lectures are scheduled per week.

Every Thursday, from 17:00 to 18:00 CET (local time in Spain), a live online tutoring session is mandatory. This session allows students to interact with the teacher and clarify any questions about the weekly class.
Quiz: At the end of each tutoring session there will be a small exam regarding the conference of the week.
Additionally, a face-to-face period takes place once a year during the "Summer School" week in Barcelona, at the end of each academic year. This will be held in the first week of July of each academic year.

Master’s Final Project (MFP):
The MFP can focus on a clinical case, new biomarker, disease, or a literature review. It may also include a series of patient descriptions or combine clinical and laboratory work, especially for translational research topics.
